Hamilton County is located in Central Iowa. It is named for William Hamilton, who served as President of the Iowa State Senate.
Both the seat and largest city are Webster City. The Boone River flows through the county.
It borders Wright, Hardin, Story, Boone and Webster Counties.
Main highways through the county include I-35, US-20, US-69, IA-17 and IA-175.
